How to Set Up a Pioneer Surround Sound

Pioneer home entertainment systems with Surround Sound use the audio track on a DVD or BluRay disc to produce the feeling to be in the center of the origin of sound on-screen. These systems normally include five small speakers and a subwoofer. Setting the machine up correctly involves connecting the speakers and situating them for the perfect audio effect. It is simple enough, but it will take a while as you tweak the positioning of every speaker to obtain the sound balance perfect.

Attach the non-skid pads to the speaker bases; screw the bases to the speakers when they have detachable bases. Insert a set of wires for every speaker to the openings on the trunk of the ball player unit. For every pair, press the red tab right back and stick the finish of the wire with the gray stripe to the hole and release the tab, then do the same with the residual wire and the black tab. Connect a set of wires for each one of the six pairs of openings. Position both front speakers on either side of it, flush to the top of screen if at all possible. Position the middle speaker instantly above or below it. Place both surround speakers on tables or shelves positioned slightly behind where you will be sitting to view TELEVISION, and pointing slightly in toward the middle of the area. Position the subwoofer within an out-of-the-way place on the ground. The subwoofer should maintain the overall part of the TELEVISION although not right alongside it. Run the cables from the connectors on the rear of the ball player to the corresponding speakers. Run the cable from the leading right connectors to the leading right speaker, etc. Connect each cable by inserting the gray line wire underneath the red wire tab, and another wire above the black wire tab. If necessary, slice the speaker cable to length and strip 1/4 inch of insulation off the ends with needle-nose pliers. Attach the ball player to it monitor. If your monitor comes with an HDMI connection, plug one end of the supplied HDMI cable to the jack on the ball player and another end to the jack on it. If your monitor has composite video input, plug the red, white and yellow RCA plugs in one end of the supplied cable to the correspondingly colored output jacks on the ball player; plug another ends to the correspondingly colored jacks on the rear of it.
